Privacy Policy
Effective August 14, 2026 · The short version: the app knows nothing, and we like it that way.
The app: we collect nothing
ShotgunKeyboard (the macOS app) does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It uses macOS's Input Monitoring permission only to react to the fact that a key went down — it never determines, records, or stores which key you pressed, and it cannot see what you type. The app makes no network connections: no analytics, no crash reporting, no accounts, no advertising. Your settings stay on your Mac.
The website
This site is hosted on Vercel, whose infrastructure keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to operate the service. We count visits with Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless and aggregated — no personal profiles, no cross-site tracking. We run no advertising and no marketing cookies.
Purchases
Checkout is provided by Stripe. Stripe collects the information needed to process your order — email address, payment details, and billing information — under Stripe's privacy policy. Your card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers. We receive your email address and order details so we can deliver the download and help you if something goes wrong.
Retention and your rights
We keep order records (email and order details) as long as needed for support and tax/accounting obligations. You can request a copy or deletion of your data any time by emailing support@shotgunkeyboard.com.
